Gracenotes

Gracenotes are:

• short uncover-cover movements

• played by uncovering only the corresponding note's hole in the chanter

  • e.g. a D gracenote is only played by raising your index finger.

• above the melody line (notice in the below example, all gracenotes are above the Low-G)

• not counted as part of a tune's time signature
