Layer 3

This layer builds over Layer 1 (pitch), and Layer 2 (duration). It adds the individual embellishments played during note transitions. It does not consider the compound embellishments. Compound embellishments are therefore replaced (*) as follows:

• Embellishments starting with G-gracenote -> G-gracenote

• Embellishments starting with Low-G -> Strike to Low-G

(*) Only for the purpose of this layered approach to sight-reading, all embellishments are played in the full tune.

Things to look for on this layer include the following:

• G gracenote - changing notes

• D gracenote - changing notes

• E gracenote - changing notes

• Strikes
